Polynomials can be used to approximate complex algebraic functions.  Multiple disciplines such as physics, biology, chemistry, economics, oceanography, statistics, anthropology, genetics, psephology, fluids, wind, and even civil engineering use Taylor Polynomials or Maclaurin Polynomials to simplify determining derivatives and integrals of complex algebraic functions within their fields of study.

The curriculum that I have written will be used to help students understand how to write, use, and apply polynomial series to approximate complex algebraic functions and errors associated with the approximations.  The curriculum will also offer students opportunities to explore research which incorporates Taylor Series as a tool to better explain scientific phenomenon.
